Harvest of Hope Garden offers positive education opportunities in Listowel

The Salvation Army’s Harvest of Hope Garden will allow people to learn some basic gardening skills this spring. Upcoming free courses are no-till, also known as lasagna gardening on May 9, planting on May 30 and bucket or container gardening on June 13.

During a March 7 speaking engagement for International Women’s Day, Shelly Skinner, founder and president of UPlift Black, was interrupted by a racist, homophobic cyber attack.

UPlift Black is a grassroots social service agency with an overall mission to uplift the lives of the Black community in Simcoe County and beyond.
