Multicultural Association GoFundMe raises funds for Ukrainian refugee resettlement
The recent conflict in Ukraine has displaced countless families, and the Multicultural Association of Perth Huron (MAPH) has stepped up to help with resettlement. To this end, they launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help Ukrainian refugees.
So far, the MAPH fundraising efforts have raised about $25,000, but they require much more.

Feline Friends Network continues mission to humanely reduce cat homelessness
Since Feline Friends Network was founded in 2006 to reduce the problems of cat overpopulation and homelessness humanely, it has helped at least 3,352 cats get spayed and neutered.
“That’s the reason Feline Friends started,” said Sharon Morrice, president of Feline Friends Network. “It was started by someone volunteering at the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals shelter at the time. She could see there was a big, big problem with cats – more cats coming in than dogs, so she thought, why aren’t we working on the root cause of this and that is that cats multiply at such a high rate.”
Council seeks report on FoodCycler waste reduction program
Following a presentation from Food Cycle Science Corporation on March 7, North Perth council asked staff to research the feasibility of participating in a FoodCycler pilot program to help households reduce their organic waste by 90 percent.
