The recent conflict in Ukraine has displaced countless families, and the Multicultural Association of Perth Huron (MAPH) has stepped up to help with resettlement. To this end, they launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help Ukrainian refugees.
So far, the MAPH fundraising efforts have raised about $25,000, but they require much more.
The Multicultural Association of Perth Huron (MAPH) has kicked off their fundraising efforts to support Ukrainian refugees who will soon be arriving in Perth and Huron Counties with a dinner at Revival House in Stratford on March 10.
The war in Ukraine touched the event as the main speaker had to cancel because her mother, a Ukrainian nurse, was injured in a Russian attack on a Ukrainian hospital.
The Multicultural Association of Perth Huron (MAPH) announced on March 2 that it has begun preparing to welcome Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war with Russia. “We were there with open arms to Syrian, Afghan and other refugees needing to escape war in their homes. Today we are opening our arms to Ukrainians who are looking for shelter as their country is under attack,” said MAPH Founder Dr. Gezahgn Wordofa.
